OVERVIEW

Operated by LSS Ocean Racing, our Middle Sea Race campaign offers a rare opportunity to compete in one of the world's most beautiful and challenging offshore classics. Starting and finishing in Malta, this 600nm race circumnavigates Sicily, taking in the active volcano of Stromboli and the rugged Egadi Islands.

BOAT INFO

BONGANI | PRONAVIA 38 | 2.3m Keel | Asymmetric A2, A3, Code Zero

Bongani is a sister ship to Seawolf who will also be racing with us this year. The Pronavia 38 is the same hull as our much loved Reflex 38s in the UK (Cougar and Panther), the difference being the P38 is a more comofortable interior layout and has twin wheels in the cockpit, in short, more of a cruiser-racer than racer-cruiser.

In 2024 she got us through 70 knot squalls and water spouts in the Middle Sea race so we’re exciting to be back on them again.

THE CREW

  1. Professional & Calm: We maintain a strictly non-shouting, professional environment. We believe you perform best when the atmosphere is focused and supportive, even during high-pressure race starts.

  2. Expert Leadership: You’ll be led by a Professional Race Skipper and a Senior First Mate. This dual-leadership ensures an expert is always on deck, allowing the team to maintain peak performance throughout the 600nm course.

  3. No Experience? No Problem: While we talk to every crew member to gauge their level, a "pro" background isn't required. With a limited crew of 10 people, you'll be an essential part of the team, learning and contributing every mile of the way.
