The Royal Southern Summer Regatta is 4 racing weekends over the summer months, and each one is like a mini-adventure. Competitive racing on the water and cracking social events ashore, it’s our first time to participate in this event and we’re looking forward to having some weekends of fun summer racing in our diaries!

THE EVENT

THE PLAN
📍Start: Port Hamble Marina
Saturday mornings will be early off the dock for a series of short races during the day.
Saturday night we’ll be in the marina and ashore for socials.
Sundays will be another early start for bacon sandwiches and a day of racing. Back to the dock early afternoon for wind down drinks and departure.
GOOD TO KNOW
The Whatsapp group will help to coordinate lifts/train collections/drop offs
You can stay onboard on Friday and Saturday nights (bring bedding as race yachts have very simple facilities)

Previous experience required:
Previous offshore sailing experience required unless this is your first offshore race in the Fastnet Campaign
Experience of spinnakers/gennakers is handy

They will run either 2 short 1-2 hour races or 1 longer race each Sunday.
Time on the water approximately 4-5 hours
