The Hamble Winter Series is split over 8 weekends, and each one is a mini-adventure! We will do a couple of full weekends which will include a training day on Saturday followed by racing on Sunday. One weekend combines IRC Championships and HWS so there is racing both days.
Join us for one weekend or the whole series, autumn sailing is a great way to hone your sailing after the season and keep you fresh into the new year!
HOW TO BOOK
The Hamble Winter Series is organised by the Hamble River Sailing Club. The Hamble Winter Series lasts for several weekends, and each one is like a mini-adventure. Sailors compete to win prizes and trophies, and the competition is intense. It's a fun and vibrant atmosphere that brings people together and creates a strong sense of community.
In a nutshell, the Hamble Winter Series is a thrilling yacht racing event that takes place in the Solent at the end of the year, where sailors show off their skills, compete for prizes, and enjoy the camaraderie of the sailing community.

*Cost is £175 per race day reducing by £10 pd for every additional day, capped at min £125 per day.
THE EVENT
The Hamble Winter Series is an exciting yacht racing series that happens at the end of the year in the Solent.
The Hamble Winter Series lasts for several weekends. Sailors compete to win prizes and trophies, and the competition is intense. The boats are pushed to the limit, and every race is a chance for sharp improvement and learning.
As above, the dates are as follows;
Weekend 1: Training Saturday 3rd Oct and racing Sunday 4th.
Weekend 2: Racing Saturday 10th Oct (IRC Championships), and racing Sunday 11th (IRC Champs and HWS).
Weekend 3: Racing Sunday 18th Oct.
Weekend 4: Racing Sunday 25th Oct.
(Break on 1st Nov)
Weekend 5: Training Saturday 7th Nov and racing Sunday 8th.
Weekend 6: Racing Sunday 15th Nov.
Weekend 7: Racing Sunday 22nd Nov.
Weekend 8: Racing Sunday 29th Nov.
THE PLAN
Start Day | Port Hamble Marina
Saturdays | Meet at 0900 in the marina and spend the day practising drills on the water and ashore. IRC Championships Saturday times TBC.
Sundays (First 4) | Meet on the dock 0830 | Two Races | Back on the berth around 1400 to head home
Sundays (Back 4) | Meet on the dock 0830 | One Race | Back on the berth around 1400 to head home

Previous experience required:
Previous offshore sailing experience required unless this is your first offshore race in the Fastnet Campaign
Experience of spinnakers/gennakers is handy

They will run either 2 short 1-2 hour races or 1 longer race each Sunday.
Time on the water approximately 4-5 hours
