📍 Port Hamble Marina

The Hamble Winter Series is split over 8 weekends, and each one is like a mini-adventure. LSS are making some of the weekends a training day on Saturday followed by racing on Sunday. Others are just racing on Sunday. It is a great way to hone your sailing after the season and keep you fresh into the new year.

*Cost is £175 per day reducing by £10 pd for every additional day, capping at a min £125 per day

THE EVENT

The Hamble Winter Series is an exciting yacht racing series that happens at the end of the year in the Solent.

The Hamble Winter Series lasts for several weekends, and each one is like a mini-adventure. Sailors compete to win prizes and trophies, and the competition is intense. The boats are pushed to the limit, and every race is a chance for sharp improvement and learning.

THE PLAN

Start Day | Port Hamble Marina

  • Saturdays | Meet at 0900 in the marina and spend the day practising drills on the water and ashore

  • Sundays (First 4) | Meet on the dock 0830 | Two Races | Back on the berth around 1400 to head home

  • Sundays (Back 4) | Meet on the dock 0830 | One Race | Back on the berth around 1400 to head home

Good to know

  • The Whatsapp group will help to coordinate lifts/train collections/drop offs

  • Previous experience required:

    • Previous offshore sailing experience required unless this is your first offshore race in the Fastnet Campaign

    • Experience of spinnakers/gennakers is handy

    • They will run either 2 short 1-2 hour races or 1 longer race each Sunday.

    • Time on the water approximately 4-5 hours
