We’re excited for our first flotilla trip to Sardinia this September, with our lead boat being a stunning Lagoon 52 catamaran.

The region is a sailor’s dream, crystal-clear waters, sheltered anchorages and some of the Mediterranean’s most beautiful beaches.
Our flotillas combine enjoyable, unhurried sailing with plenty of time to relax on deck, swim in turquoise bays and soak up the sunshine and Sardinia promises plenty of opportunity for all.


The area has stunning anchorages where we will lunch, sip sundowners, or on occasion spend the night and the coastline is dotted with charming harbour towns, and onshore we’ll have plenty of opportunity to enjoy fresh seafood, a few local wines and some classic Italian flavours.

THE EVENT

To give you a rough idea of how we will plan the week, you can see our estimated itinerary below (weather dependent). Most days days will consist of some sailing and/ or motoring in the morning, a relaxed lunch onboard whilst on anchor with some swimming and then some more sailing before we moor up for the evening, sometimes in marinas and we will see where the night takes us, some evenings on anchor, cooking onboard and sipping drinks under the stars.

THE BOAT & CABIN OPTIONS

We’ve secured a stunning Lagoon 52 catamaran with 6 cabins and 6 bathrooms, which can accommodate up to 12 guests plus skipper and first mate.

Your options are to:

  • Book as an individual (and be paired with a cabinmate at a social before the evet),

  • Book as an individual with your own cabin (a supplement of 75% a spot will apply),

  • Book as a pair.

WHOLE BOAT CHARTER:

If you want to put your own boat together (i.e. skipper & crew), please get in touch to discuss boat options and prices.

THE GENERAL PLAN

  • DAY 1

    Saturday 26 Sept, arrive into Olbia Airport (OLB) and make your way to Marina di Portisco. We will check onto our boats and do our a big grocery shop to provision the first couple of days. We'll have a meal ashore and sleep on the boat to get a fairly early start in the morning.

    (NB: Flights and transfers are not included in the price)

  • DAY 2

    We'll have a nice sail on our first day on the water, covering approx 15nm to Cala Portese - a little piece of paradise, with a beautiful beach and fun beach restaurants for a meal ashore. This area has stunning anchorages where we can stay overnight.

  • DAY 3

    We’ll sail over to Cala Garibaldi a pretty white sand cove for lunch (onboard) before continuing to the town of La Maddalena for an evening ashore.

  • DAY 4

    Our first stop on Day 4 is likely to be a lunch on anchor at Cala Sambucco, it’s a beautiful beach best reached by boat, so we might even have it to ourselves.

    In the evening we will sail for the lively town of Bonifacio, historic, with dramatic scenery, and a lot of fun.

  • DAY 5

    Another day and the promise of another beautiful lunchtime anchorage, this time at Cala Santa Maria.

    We will likely spend the night on anchor at Porto Liscia, so day 5 will be a day of boat life, swimming, and sundowners (with an aim of a perfect sunset of course!)

  • DAY 6

    Cala dell' Amore Cannigione is the perfect place to relax, and it’s where we will head for lunch on day 6.

    As it will be the last evening out on the water together, we will try to do something very special!

  • DAY 7

    For our last day on the water we will make the long track back to Marina di Portisco.

    Stopping en route of course, for another beautiful lunch on anchor at Porto Liccia.

    We’ll spend the night in the Marina di Portisco before handing the boats over the next day.

  • DAY 8

    Time for goodbyes and departure!

    Either set off from Portoisco for a further adventure in Sardinia or we will share taxis back to Olbia airport.

    *For full boat charter this will vary - we will discuss the different options with you.

    • You will need to pay for your travel to/ from Marina di Portisco, including flights to/ from Sardinia and transport to the marina (most likely we will organise taxies).

    • Costs for food and drinks aboard will be shared per boat (normally boat kitty gets set up).

    • Food and drinks ashore are normally paid for individually.

  • Easiest option is to pay your deposit online, for the balance we will be in touch with you and you can pay by credit card or bank transfer.

  • Yes, if you wish to amend your booking, please email us at bookings@londonschoolofsailing.co.uk and we will try to accommodate your request. Please note that any changes may be subject to a sum of £25 per change to cover our administrative costs.

    If you need to cancel your booking, please let us know on bookings@londonschoolofsailing.co.uk and the cancellation will be effective on the day a message is received.

    In case of a cancellation for a major event (e.g. Transatlantic crossings, Offshore mile-builders, The Fastnet Campaign, Dartmouth Regatta, any cruises abroad), the following charges apply:

    • 100 days or more before departure or event start: deposit only;

    • 71-99 days before departure or event start: 50% of the total event price;

    • 43-70 days before departure or event start: 70% of the total event price;

    • 42 days or less before departure or event start: 100% of the total event price;

    If the reasons for your cancellation are covered under the terms of your insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim these charges. It is your responsibility to satisfy yourself that you are covered. A cancellation invoice will be issued on request.

  • For our Meditterean cruises no previous sailing experience is required.

    At LSS we believe the attitude to contribute and learn is the most important.

  • Our start and end point for this trip will be Marina di Portisco (NE Sardinia)

  • The Catamarans will have electric toilets and very nice showers. Note that the boats consist of 4 ensuite cabins and a bunk cabin.

    The boats also have:
