The Taittinger Regatta is a cracking weekend consisting of a day's training, 2 days of racing, and a lot of social & laughs. Not to mention plenty of champagne. In 2022 LSS had a pontoon BBQ and drinks before heading to the towers party for live music and dancing.

THE EVENT

The Taittinger Regatta hosted by the Royal Solent Yacht Club from Yarmouth and sponsored by Taittinger Champagne has a growing reputation as a great fun weekend of racing down in the scenic and very tidal Western Solent. One of the most fun social regattas in the Solent.

  • Meet in Hamble in the morning to get a full day training whilst sailing down to Yarmouth in time for check-in and festivities.

  • All day racing with races set by RSYC around Western Solent. Depending on weather, there are usually two ‘round the cans’ races. Afterwards, we’ll get together with all LSS boats for a party (and most likely a BBQ!) on the pontoon before heading to the official Towers party.

  • Sunday is a shorter day of racing, normally one race with a decent starting time. After that, we will make our way back to Hamble in the early afternoon. After some general cleaning & tidying, it is departure time.
